Club Policies

Club Hours

The City Club office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. 
The Club will be available to its members Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm. and, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
The Club serves breakfast, lunch, and à la Carte dinner.

Bar & Grill

The Grill will be open for:

  • Breakfast (Members and Invited Guests): Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

    • NOTE: For groups of 5, or more, reservations are recommended. For groups larger than 8 please contact Kenny for Private Event Reservations.

  • Lunch: Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

    • Please Note: No Reservations are required for Breakfast and Lunch

  • Dinner: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.


  • Open Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

  • 2 for 1 Happy Hour - Monday - Friday from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

    • NOTE: 2-for-1 domestic and import beers, call mixed drinks and J. Lohr wine.

NOTE: No Reservations are required for Breakfast and Lunch. Casual attire is permitted in the Grill.

Continental Room

The Continental Room (Main Dining Room) is open from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Business casual for men and proper attire for women is required for service in the Continental Room unless otherwise specified. Reservations are recommended.  Business Attire.  Coat and tie are not required.

Veranda & Lounge

The Second Floor Veranda Room & Lounge are open from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. Business casual attire is permitted for dining in the Veranda & Lounge. Should a private function be scheduled during these times, one of our private rooms will be available to the membership.   Reservations are recommended. Business Attire.  Coat and tie are not required.

Club Events

As an added value, the City Club hosts many events for members to enjoy. Among a few of these are themed dinners, dances, holiday parties, and many more. The City Club takes pride in an extensive wine collection and educational information available for members and guests.  The Club strives to be a premier wine venue catering to education through our many wine seminars, tastings and lectures. 

Private Functions

The Club will be opened on Saturday or Sunday for parties with a minimum guarantee that varies according to various factors, please call us to learn how to host a private function.

Private Dining Rooms

A final guarantee for the number of persons attending the function must be provided no less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the start of any party.  You will be charged for at least 5% of guests below the number guaranteed. Additionally, you will be charged for any guests in attendance above the guarantee. The Chef will prepare up to 5% of food over the guaranteed number of guests. If a guarantee is not received, the Club will consider the last indication of expected attendance to be the guarantee.


For lunch members are requested to make advance dining room reservations when possible.  Reservations cannot be accepted for service in the Grill.
With regard to special club functions, the Club will make every reasonable effort to fill your spot, but if it cannot, then you will be charged full price for the event if you cancel less than 24 hours prior to the event.
Dinner reservations are requested.


All club entertainment shall be for members and guests of members only.  Resident guests or persons living within a 25 air-mile radius of the City Club of Baton Rouge are entitled to the privileges of the Club only when accompanied by a Club Member. 

Tipping Regulations

A 20% service charge will be added to all checks. Cash tipping is not permitted.  Members are subject to a $50.00 fine for the first offense and expulsion for a second violation.  Employees accepting tips are subject to disciplinary action.  The Board of Governors feels that a strict adherence to this policy will result in more uniform service to all members.

Families of Members

Full account use privileges for spouse or partner.  Spouses of Resident members and children who are under the age of twenty-one, or under the age of twenty-five and attending school, and their guests are permitted the use of the entire second floor dining area and all private rooms on the first floor.  Children under the age of six years are not permitted in the Club, except for specific parties so noted.

Black Tie

Ladies: Formal Cocktail dress, Evening Gown

Coat and Tie

Example Events: Sunday Brunch’s, and Wine Society Events
Men: Sports Coat or Blazer, Tie, Slacks (no denim or shorts)
Ladies: Cocktail dress, Long Skirt and Dress Top, Pants suit, Little black dress

Casual (Club Casual)

Example Events: Live after 5, Spanish Town Block Party, Grill Bar from 4 pm – 8 pm and Special Events
Men: Khakis, slacks or jeans (no holes or stains), Polo shirt, Turtleneck, Casual Button-Down, Sweater, Shorts (Khakis or similar style), Loafers, Sneakers or Sandals
Ladies: Sundress, Long or Short Skirt, Khakis or Nice Jeans, Polo Shirt, or Turtleneck, Casual Button-Down Blouse

Business Casual

Example Events: Breakfast Lunch and a la Carte
Men: Collared shirt, Slacks or Dress Jeans, Optional Coat and Tie
Ladies: Dress, Skirt and Dress top Pants Suit, Dress Jeans and Top

Prohibited Attire

Flip Flops, Baseball Caps, Cut Off shorts, Athletic Shorts, Undershirts, Tattered T-Shirts, and Tattered Denim.
